Green Acres Farm Sanctuary is home to around 140 chickens

Meet Magda! As a chick, she was surrendered to us due to a missing eye and her scissor beak. These birth defects saved her life because as a Cornish cross-bred, she would have been raised for meat and slaughtered at just 6-8 weeks old. Since Magda was the only chick at the sanctuary she quickly bonded with us humans but has recently begun to make friends with some of the other chickens. Despite missing an eye and having a scissor beak, she is able to grow and thrive at Green Acres. We're so happy to be able to provide her with a place to call home.
