2017 Year End Updates

Residents In 2017 Green Acres Farm Sanctuary took in 89 farm animals. This included 44 rescued battery cage hens, 4 hens saved from religious sacrifice, a dumped duck we named West, chicks discarded because they are “unfit to sell”, Willy the one-eyed turkey, and Cupcake the pig. We are honored to provide each one a safe and loving home. Thanks to our volunteers and your donations we hope to help even more animals in 2018.   Volunteers In 2017 volunteers gave 8079 hours to keep Green Acres Farm Sanctuary operating. With no paid staff the sanctuary truly runs on volunteer power. Thank you to everyone that has given their time to help the animals. We hope to see you in 2018.   Youth Humane Education In 2017 Green Acres Farm Sanctuary hosted 17 school classes, youth groups, summer camps, and teen out reach programs. Over 177 students took educational tours and volunteered 594 hours. We believe it is important to provide an opportunity for young people to learn about, interact with, and help animals they may never otherwise meet.     Foster Program In 2017 Green Acres Farm Sanctuary fostered 55 dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens. Our foster program is a lifeline by providing loving care and a safe place for scared stray cats, abandoned kittens, and pregnant dogs scheduled to be euthanized.
